Meet Dr. Alex Stoj

Dr Alex StojDr. Alex didn’t always know he’d become a chiropractor. He knew he wanted to work in health care, but what that would look like was still up in the air.

Then two things happened. He had a great experience with chiropractic care in high school, and he watched his grandmother manage an increasingly long list of medications. It got him thinking about other ways to help people.

For a school assignment, he interviewed a chiropractor. The more he learned, the more the profession felt like a good fit. By the time he headed to college, he had a pretty good idea of where he was going.

EXPLORE OUR SERVICES

From the Classroom to the Clinic

Dr. Alex earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. While studying, he worked as a chiropractic assistant in a family practice. That’s where things really clicked. He loved the conversations, the relationships, and seeing patients make progress over time.

He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York. Along the way, he gained experience in several clinical settings:

  • A neurology clinic, working with complex cases before and after surgery
  • A busy family chiropractic practice
  • A rehabilitation-focused clinic, helping high-level athletes with strength and conditioning

He’s trained in Diversified, Gonstead, flexion-distraction, Logan Basic, Webster, Graston, and Active Release Technique. He’s also a member of the American Chiropractic Association.

It’s About Getting Back to Living

Ask Dr. Alex what he enjoys about chiropractic, and he’ll talk about helping people do more of what they love.

“So if you can help the patient do the things they enjoy and what they want to do, then they’ll be feeling better emotionally as well as physically.”

He likes taking the time to explain things, answer questions, and help patients make their own decisions. Strengthening exercises, stretching, and everyday habits are often part of those conversations. He’s particularly interested in rehabilitation and helping people work toward their goals after surgery.

And he doesn’t have one particular type of patient in mind.

“If you want to get healthy and feel better, I want to work with them.”

A Few Miles for a Good Cause

In 2019, Dr. Alex spent two weeks in Mexico teaching English at an after-school program for girls and helping repaint the facility.

Another experience close to his heart was a college walkathon. A friend who’d sustained a spinal cord injury had started a scholarship to help students with physical disabilities cover college accessibility costs.

Dr. Alex and several friends walked roughly 33 miles in one day, through the first snowfall of the year. They raised thousands of dollars, and the walkathon is still going today.

Finding His Place in Colorado

Dr. Alex first visited Colorado to see his cousin at Fort Carson and play volleyball. He loved it enough to move here with his girlfriend, a pediatric physical therapist.

He’s played volleyball and lacrosse, run several marathons and half marathons, and is now trying trail running. When he’s not outdoors, you might find him reading in his hammock with a mountain view. Harry Potter is currently on the agenda, with The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones next on his reading list.
